Privacy Policy
- We collect what it takes to run a request queue: the levels you send, your Twitch name, and how often you've requested.
- The streamer whose page you use can see what you send them. Some of it, like played levels and the leaderboard, is public.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
- Your IP address is hashed before it goes into a page's database. It appears in plain form only in short-lived server logs and abuse counters.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
levelrequest is run by tricipital ("we", "us", "our"). We operate levelrequest.com, the request pages hosted on it, the stream overlays those pages provide, the levelrequest Twitch bot and the Discord notifications described below (together, the "Service").
Each request page is set up and run by a streamer (the "streamer" or "page owner"). The streamer decides what their page asks for, which requests get played, and who moderates it. When you use a streamer's page, both we and that streamer can see the information you send to it.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- Viewers who visit a request page, send a request, or log in with Twitch on one.
- Streamers who create and run a page.
- Moderators a streamer gives access to.
- Chatters in a Twitch channel where the levelrequest bot is active.
It does not cover Twitch, Discord, YouTube or any other site you reach through a link on the Service. Those sites have their own policies. A streamer's own use of what they see on their page, outside the Service, is their responsibility.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Requests. The level, course, map or song code you submit, its creator, its difficulty and type, an optional video link, optional notes, and your answers to any questions the streamer added. You also enter a Twitch username, or we fill it in from your login.
- Saved levels. Up to three levels you choose to save for later.
- Page setup (streamers). The game, colors, chat rules, links to your other profiles, queue settings and anything else you enter while setting up or managing your page.
- Support tickets (streamers). The subject and messages you send us through Support, and our replies.
- Messages to us. Anything you send by email or Discord.
3.2 Information from Twitch
When you log in with Twitch, Twitch tells us your Twitch user ID, login name, display name and, on levelrequest.com itself, your profile picture. We ask Twitch for permission to read your subscriptions, so we can see whether you subscribe to the streamer whose page you're on. Subscriber-only features depend on it. We don't receive your password or email address.
To keep your subscriber status current, we keep the access token Twitch gives us in your login session on our servers. It can only read your subscriptions, and it's deleted when the session ends.
Streamers who connect their channel to the bot give us tokens with the permissions they approve, such as managing channel point rewards, reading their moderators and bans, and sending announcements. We keep these tokens on our servers so the bot can act in that channel, and we use the streamer's own token to check that they subscribe to tricipital for supporter features.
To help streamers spot spam and fake accounts, we may look up the creation date of a Twitch account that sends a request or appears in a moderator lookup, and keep it in a short cache.
3.3 Information created when you use a page
- Queue and history. Your requests, when you sent them, whether your Twitch name was confirmed by a login, and the levels the streamer played, with how they rated them ("sends").
- Weight. Your weight for each level, how it changed and why (resubmits, codes, transfers, rewards).
- Points and leaderboard. Scores earned from sends, and any milestones you reach.
- Codes and transfers. Promo and weight codes you create or redeem, and weight transfers you send, receive or have reviewed by a moderator.
- Orbs, streaks and predictions. On pages that use them: your Orbs balance and its history, the streams you were present in chat for, your watch streak, and your prediction bets.
- Favorites. Levels a streamer marks as favorites, with any rating or note they add.
- Moderation. Actions moderators take on a page, with the moderator's name, and the bans and moderator list the streamer syncs from their Twitch channel.
- Notification settings. Which Discord notifications you've turned on.
- Queue statistics. Counts like queue size and submissions over time, used for a streamer's analytics. These don't identify you.
3.4 Twitch chat and channel points
In channels where the levelrequest bot is active, it reads chat messages so it can answer commands and run chat games. We don't store chat messages. We store only what a feature needs: who won a game, who redeemed a channel point reward and which one, and which accounts were present in chat during a live stream (from Twitch's list of chatters) for Orbs and watch streaks. The bot may post your Twitch name in chat, for example when announcing winners or a prize code.
3.5 Discord
If you link Discord for notifications, we store your Discord user ID and username and send you direct messages for the events you choose, such as your level being picked or played. Streamers who open support tickets may also get a direct message when we reply. You can unlink Discord at any time.
3.6 Technical information
- IP address. We use it to keep requests to one per person, to limit abuse, and to keep the Service secure. Before an IP address is stored in a page's database, we turn it into a one-way hash. Your IP address appears in plain form only in our web server access logs and in short-lived counters that stop repeated sign-up and login attempts.
- Server logs. Each request to our servers records the time, your IP address, the address you asked for, and the result. Error logs record what went wrong. Neither includes the content of your requests.
- Bot check. When a page has bot protection on, and when you sign up for a page, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person. Cloudflare processes information about your browser and connection to do this.
4. How we use it
We use the information above to:
- run request queues: take requests, track weight, pick levels, and show history, queues and leaderboards;
- let you log in with Twitch and offer subscriber-only features;
- run the Twitch bot, chat games, Orbs and predictions on the channels that use them, and deliver prizes;
- send the Discord notifications you ask for;
- let streamers and their moderators manage their page, and give streamers statistics about their queue;
- prevent spam, fraud and abuse, enforce a streamer's bans, and keep the Service secure;
- answer support tickets and messages;
- fix problems and keep the Service running, including scaling our servers when streams are live.
We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or build marketing profiles. We don't use third-party analytics or tracking.
Where the law requires a legal basis for using personal information, we rely on: providing the Service you asked for; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving it; your consent, for optional features like Discord notifications, which you can withdraw at any time; and compliance with the law.
5. What is public
Some information is shown to anyone who visits a page or watches the stream:
- Played history: the levels a streamer played, their creator, the requester's Twitch name, and the send rating.
- Leaderboard: Twitch names and scores, on pages that use points.
- Queue: if the streamer opens it to everyone, the waiting levels and requesters' Twitch names. Otherwise, only subscribers, moderators and the streamer can see it.
- Predictions: who bet on each outcome and how much.
- On stream: overlays and the bot can show the level being played, who requested it, chat game results and winners' names.
The streamer and their moderators can also see the requests sent to their page, including your notes, video links and answers to their questions.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only as described here:
- The streamer and their moderators, for the page you use, as described in section 5.
- Service providers who run parts of the Service for us and may only use the information to do so:
- Amazon Web Services (hosting, content delivery, databases and logs);
- DigitalOcean (the server that runs the Twitch bot);
- Cloudflare (Turnstile bot checks);
- Twitch and Discord (logins, the bot, and notifications, when you use those features).
- Content providers. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from unpkg and jsDelivr. Your browser contacts them directly, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information.
- GDBrowser. On Geometry Dash pages, when a streamer pulls up a level in Now playing, their browser asks GDBrowser (gdbrowser.com) for that level's public details, such as its name, rating and top comments. GDBrowser receives the level ID and the streamer's IP address. Nothing about the viewer who requested it is sent.
- Legal reasons. If we're required to by law, or need to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or ourselves.
- A change of ownership. If the Service is transferred to someone else, your information may be transferred with it, under the same protections as this policy.
7. Cookies and browser storage
We use only the cookies the Service needs to work. They're sent only over secure connections and can't be read by scripts on the page.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Page session | Keeps you logged in on a request page and protects your actions against forgery. | 30 days |
lr_auth | Keeps you logged in on levelrequest.com while you set up or manage a page. | 30 days |
The pages also save a few preferences in your browser's local storage, such as light or dark mode, overlay layout and, while you set up a page, your unfinished answers. These never leave your device, and you can clear them in your browser settings at any time.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Requests in the queue | Until the level is played, removed or the queue is cleared. |
| Played history | The most recent 200 played levels per page. |
| Weight | Until your level is played or you delete it. Weight carries over between streams on purpose. |
| Scores, Orbs, streaks, favorites and settings | While the page exists, or until the streamer resets them. |
| Login sessions | Up to 30 days. |
| Login hand-off tickets | 60 seconds, and deleted as soon as they're used. |
| Server logs | Up to 30 days. |
| Abuse counters (hashed IP) | A few hours. |
| Support tickets | While the page exists. |
| Disabled pages | Kept, so the page can be turned back on, until the streamer asks us to delete it. |
If a streamer asks us to delete their page, we delete its database and everything in it. We may keep information longer when the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute or abuse.
9. Your choices and rights
- Delete your weight for a level from the Progress tab of a page.
- Unlink Discord or turn notifications off from the bell next to your name.
- Log out at any time. Logging out ends your session and deletes its tokens.
- Revoke access on Twitch under Settings, Connections, and on Discord under Authorized Apps.
You can also ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy, and you can object to or ask us to limit how we use it. Contact us using the details in section 14, and tell us your Twitch name and the pages you've used, so we can find your information. We'll answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm the account is yours first, for example by asking you to message us from it.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights.
If your request is about what a streamer did with information you sent to their page, we'll help where we can, but you may also need to contact the streamer directly.
10. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, encrypted connections to our databases, IP addresses hashed before storage, login tokens on levelrequest.com stored only as one-way hashes, protection against cross-site request forgery, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be accessed without permission. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
11. Where it is stored
The Service runs on servers in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as our providers' standard contractual clauses.
12. Children
The Service is not meant for children under 13, which is also Twitch's minimum age. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where they live. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll say so on levelrequest.com before it takes effect. Using the Service after a change means the updated policy applies.
14. Contact us
